Entry number 1. Will it be first and last?
I liked the name journeyman, and the definition resonated for me. Wikipedia says...
"A journeyman is someone who completed an apprenticeship and was fully educated in a trade or craft, but not yet a master....The terms jack and knave are sometimes used as informal words for journeyman. Hence the expression "jack of all trades, master of none" as someone who is educated in several fields, but is not an expert in any one." When I finished studying social work in 1983 we said this to one another about our training - what have we learnt? Perhaps lots, but also perhaps nothing in any great depth.
This morning is like many before. Wake at 5, breakfast then off to the gym for group training. I've been doing this for three years now, and I think this will be my lifetime pattern unless something very unexpected happens to disrupt things. More on this later...my life has changed in the last three years which is curious and exciting.
Off to the gym!
